The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission aasked the ASTM to develop the safety performance requirements for swimming pool alarms in the year 2000.
The Safety and Performance Standard entitled – ASTM F 2208

• Pool alarms shall have a minimum sound pressure of 85 decibels at 10 feet.

The two alarm can be set to either chirp or wail at 120 decibels while the remote receiver can be placed up to 100 feet away from the swimming pool. This remote alerts you with a voice announcement or a 100 decibel siren.

The Above Ground Pool Alarm with remote receiver system
This above ground alarm system offers reliable protection featuring the patented underwater wave detector, 120 decibel alarm when an object of 15 pounds or more falls into the swimming pool. This systems sensor is mounted on the inside swimming pool wall, while the control panel which contains the siren is installed on top of the swimming pool. The control panel has an ON/OFF switch, low battery alert, and a power check button. The system includes mounting hardware, a remote receiver up to 100 feet away, and can cover swimming pool sizes from 24 feet to a 16x32 foot oval. This system comes with a one year warranty.
